The Excellent Adventure Plan

For a variety of reasons, Dinah and I have decided to embark on a five-month-long RV trip through the United States, which we have dubbed “Louis and Dinah’s Excellent Adventure.”

Our plan is to go to historic, picturesque destinations, and visit family and friends along the way, all while traversing the miles in our trusty RV “Sherlock,” as we experience and enjoy this beautiful country.

Having sold our house in Dallas and stored our remaining possessions, we have begun what we hope will be a fun and amazing tour of much of America. We are towing our Jetta behind Sherlock for additional travel freedom once we have established a camp in our RV.

Our plans have been altered constantly, given the ever-changing status of Covid-related restrictions in many states. We are looking forward to seeing many different landmarks, as well as enjoying cooler weather that is not typical for us during this time of year!

“Dispatches from Sherlock” will be posted quite often on our journey; we would love for you to join us on social media on our trip. Any tips or suggestions on what to see and do are welcome also, if you have been to where we are heading. Some of the destinations we are looking at including are the Redwood Forest, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Moab, Mount Rushmore, and Mackinaw Island, among others.
